The Global Peace Photo Award has assembled an esteemed panel of judges, including Peter-Matthias Gaede, the renowned editor of GEO Magazine; Lars Boering, the Managing Director of World Press Photo; Lois Lammerhuber, a publisher, photographer, and founder of the GPPA, among others. Gerd Ludwig is a permanent member of the jury and is honored to have the opportunity to select images that serve such a meaningful purpose.

In partnership with world-renowned organizations including the World Press Photo Foundation, UNESCO, and International Press Institute (IPI), the award is open to both amateur and professional photographers, and there is no entry fee. The top five submissions will receive the Alfred Fried Peace Medal at the award ceremony in Vienna, Austria, in September 2023. The winner of the Peace Image of the Year will be awarded a cash prize of €10,000 and their image will be displayed in the Austrian Parliament for one year before being added to its Permanent Collection.

Children aged 14 and under are also encouraged to participate in the contest, with a separate category for the Children's Peace Image of the Year. The winner of this category will receive a cash prize of €1,000 and an invitation to attend the award ceremony in Vienna.

The competition is currently accepting entries until May 21. For further details and to submit your entry, please visit the Global Peace Photo Award website, Twitter and Instagram.
